Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion will feature the Constella Trio, comprised of Tatiana Berman, Yael Senamaud-Cohen, and Ilya Finkelshteyn. Violinist Tatiana Berman is also a founding member of concert:nova, a chamber music ensemble described by The Cincinnati Enquirer as “the future of classical music,” and is theFounder and Artistic Director of the Constella Festival of Music and Fine Arts. Yael Senamaud-Cohen serves as the principal violist in the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, and has played with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, concert:nova, and ProMusica in Columbus. She was awarded tenure as a viola professor in the Paris region conservatory system in 2005, and holds a Graduate Performance Diploma from Peabody Conservatory where she studied with Paul Coletti. Ilya Finkelshteyn, principal cellist of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Japan and Europe. He also served as the principal cellist of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and as a member of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra under the late Hans Vonk.

An evening with Charles Wadsworth at NKU

This coming coming Saturday, October 6 @ 7.30 I'll be performing a concert with Charles Wadsworth - piano/harpsichord, Nathaniel Chaitkin - cello and Nina Perlove - flute.

Program will include music by Chaminade, Debussy, Haydn, Poulenc, Quantz, Ravel and Wadsworth.

Constella Presents Queen City Connections, Featuring Anthony McGill, clarinet

Anthony McGill. Winner of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant. Performer alongside Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, and Gabriela Montero at the inauguration of President Obama. Principal clarinet of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra since 2004.

Who better to open our 2012-2013 festival season?

The Constella Festival of Music and Fine Arts is proud to present to you Queen City Connections, featuring the esteemed Anthony McGill, clarinet. Regarded as one of classical music’s finest solo, chamber and orchestral musicians, McGill is the former associate principal clarinet of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He has appeared as soloist with numerous orchestras including the Baltimore Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, San Diego Symphony, and in January 2012 with the MET Orchestra performing the Copland Clarinet Concerto.

“Anthony is one of the finest musicians out there – very accomplished and a mesmerizing performer,” stated our very own founder and artistic director Tatiana Berman. “It’s a great pleasure to have him perform as part of the Constella Festival this year.”

McGill will perform John Corigliano’s Soliloquy, plus new works alongside CSO principal cellist Ilya Finkelsteyn and violinist Tatiana Berman. This unforgettable festival opener also features the world premiere of Mark Adamo’s August Music with flutists Randy Bowman and Nina Perlove. An open reception follows at the Dorothy W. and C. Lawson Jr. Reed Gallery of UC’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning.

“Constella represents the perfect union of art, dance, music and life,” says McGill. “I look forward to being a part of the exciting energy of the festival.”
